Reinventing QR Code

The weird black & white looking of the regular QR Codes are about to make a shift. A partnership between fashion brand Louis Vuitton and japanese designer Takashi Murakami added some fun to this technology.

I´ve tried to decode it but it seens to be design speaking louder than functionality. It reminds me the famous Cannes Titanium winner "Barcode Revolution", where a design studio reshaped the barcode as we used to know it.

See the case below:

Plinio - I decoded with my HTC touch and i-nigma reader. It points to http://lvmonogram.jp/store
Pretty neat to think a QR Code could be that cool!

Do you agree that QR Codes are finally entering the mainstream in North America?
